What does a gardener cost in the Netherlands?
A professional gardener (hovenier) in the Netherlands charges €35 to €75 per hour including VAT in 2026. Our rate for regular garden maintenance is €35 to €55 per hour. Larger projects such as patios or full garden makeovers are quoted as a fixed price up front, so there are never surprises.
Which areas do you serve?
We are based in Hoofddorp and serve the entire Haarlemmermeer municipality plus Haarlem, Heemstede, Amstelveen, Aalsmeer and Badhoevedorp — roughly everything within 25 minutes of Schiphol Airport. There are no call-out charges within this area.
How quickly can you come by?
We respond to every request within 24 hours and usually schedule a free, no-obligation quote visit within 3 to 5 working days. After approval, most jobs start within 1 to 2 weeks. For urgent issues such as storm damage we aim for same-day or next-day service.
Do you offer garden maintenance contracts?
Yes. Most of our expat clients choose a maintenance subscription: we visit every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season, keep everything pruned, mowed and weed-free, and you pay one fixed price per year. Ideal if you rent out or travel often — your garden stays presentable without you thinking about it.
